On a man, jewelry should be kept to a minimum. A classy dresser doesn't have to adorn himself with earings, rings, necklaces, etc. However, there are two jewelry items that need to be explained: watches and cufflinks.

WATCHES

You should wear a watch that suits your personality. However, one should consider color when choosing a watch. If your watch is "brown" (e.g., gold with a brown band) you should probably not wear it with a black ensemble nor vice versa. This is a general rule but I wouldn't go out and buy a "brown" watch just so I could wear it with my brown ensemble.

CUFFLINKS

Cufflinks are a great way to spice up an outfit and with so many options, you are sure to find a pair that suits you. Of course, you have the basic choice of gold or silver. This should depend on the shirt you're wearing: silver usually looks best on colored shirts while either gold or silver works with a white shirt.

Avoid gaudy cufflinks. Also keep in mind that the bigger you are, the bigger cufflinks you can wear without being tacky. The reverse is true if you're a smaller gentleman.
