So you're producing a PDF for publication and you want to embed fonts. In any reasonable universe, this information should be plastered all over the web or at least in the Acrobat help file. It's not.
Here's how you do it in Acrobat 7.0:
- File... Print
- Select "Adobe PDF" as the printer, and click Properties
- Adobe PDF Settings tab
- Next to the Default Settings drop-down list, click Edit
- In the subsequent window, select the Fonts folder (on the left-hand side)
- Select all the fonts in the Never Embed list, and click Remove
- Select all the fonts in the Font Source list, and click Add -->, to add them to the Always Embed list
- Click Ok until you get back to the print widow, then click Ok to print to your favorite file name
