Portfolio

I'm somewhat of an aspiring graphic designer and have a number of opportunities to refine my skills. Here are some past projects. You should know that I do very, very little of my own artwork, mostly purchasing stock photos and vectors from istockphoto.com

WEB SITES

I'd say web sites are my favorite things to do. Often, I've designed for my church, the Bay Area Christian Church, as well as my volunteer soccer organization, e-soccer. Current designs there may or may not reflect my work.

BACC (June 2006)

Every year, the Bay Area Christian Church holds a service in the Shoreline Ampitheatre, Mountain View, CA. I redesigned the BACC homepage to promote the event. The design centers around Helen Taliaferro's tent elements, which closely resemble the Shoreline architecture.

BACC Dating (2006)

In spring of 2006, the Bay Area Christian Church began a dating website for its members: a place where people can meet in a spiritual environment. I was asked to develop the dating application and design the website. I centered this one around a cafe theme.

2006 BACC Professionals' Retreat, "Waiting on the World to Change"

More designing for BACC, this time for a Professionals' (singles and young marrieds) retreat to be held at the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose.

e-soccer (2006)

For some time, I have worked with the e-soccer program for typical kids and those with special needs. I have also had the priveledge of designing their website, on occaision. This one is based around the theme of e-international: taking e-soccer to other countries around the world, which should begin Fall 2007.

2006 ASPLOS Soccer

For the 2006 ASPLOS, Christos and I organized a soccer game for the participants. This was the registration website, based around the theme, "Get Our of Your Chair and Play," trying to encourage involvement.

Salsa Party Invite

A few friends and I threw a huge salsa party on Stanford's campus in fall 2006. The theme was "Viva el Tumbao," the tumbao being a common salsa drum rhythm. Over 200 people came.

2006 Campus Retreat, "Heroes," Invite

The 2006 BACC Campus Retreat was entitled, "Heroes." I produced four invitations, each trying to inspire the hero in potential attendees.

2006 Campus Retreat, "Heroes," Booklet Cover

For that same conference, I also produced a full-color cover for the conference booklet. This was done rather hastily and perhaps doesn't properly represent the diversity of the attendees.

Bibletalk Invite

Came up with a bibletalk series to hold on Stanford's campus called "Tough Issues." This was to be the invite for the first session, entitled, "Religious Hatred." The bibletalks never happened :(

BIBLE STUDIES

I enjoy making attractive Bible studies for friends. Here are a few I've made in the past. The names have been changed to protect the guilty :)

Anxiety, Fear, and Discipline

Anxiety, fear, and lack of discipline can plague leaders in God's kingdom. I classically typeset this study in Garamond for a friend.

Picked

Made this bible study to remind a friend that God picked them for their position. Focused on the importance of believing that God picked you, I used an apple theme with fancy design element.

T-SHIRTS

ASPLOS '06 Soccer Game

For the 2006 ASPLOS, Christos and I organized a soccer game for the participants. There were two teams: the Speed Demons and the Brainiacs, named after CPU design philosophies. I made two T-shirts, one blue and one green for the players. They were printed at Zazzle
